Library Friends The Friends of the Library Board is conducting its 2007 Membership Drive, and would like for you and your family to consider renewing your membership or becoming a new member.

The Friends of the Library organization plays an active role in the Thomas County Public Library System. We donate our time for library projects such as "Meet the Authors", used book sales and summer reading programs. We work to provide intelligent ideas to support the staff of the library and we provide funds to implement special programs or to buy necessary reading and resource materials.

The 2006 Membership was very successful. We now have the 3rd largest Friends of the Library membership in the state of Georgia! We only need 101 more members this year to take over 2nd place.

The funds raised last year allowed us to purchase many children's and teen books for summer reading as well ass reference, circulation, and Accelerated Reader books for the all the six libraries. The funds also brought Eric Litwin for a visit to all the libraries for the Vacation Reading Program.

In 2007, we are looking forward to providing programming funds for the VRP, purchasing many more books and also adding to the libraries CD/DVD collections, as demand for these has increased substantially.

Please consider the Friends of the Library as you make your charitable contributions this year. As a member of the Friends you will receive our annual newsletters and your name will be placed on a plaque in the entranceway of the library.
